Jodi Nelson, PT, DPT, CLT
I believe in treating the root of an injury, not just its symptoms. Pain rarely occurs in isolation, and I work to understand my patient’s movement patterns and dysfunctions that can lead to injury. I believe an educated patient is an engaged patient, so be prepared to learn how your body works, and more importantly, how we can make it work better.
I received my clinical doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2008. Since then, I have practiced in nursing homes, clinics and hospitals across the country, with an emphasis on orthopedic rehabilitation. I’m a Certified Lymphedema Specialist (CLT), which means I employ a variety of techniques to manage and reduce swelling. I’m also a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and am working towards a certification in functional manual therapy through the Institute of Physical Art. As a Wisconsin native who has moved to the area with my husband, a native Cedar Rapidian, I look forward to working with the wonderful people of this community!
