Becoming Better Together

Ashley Riley, PT, DPT, MHA, SCS, CYT

My Philosophy

As a lifelong-learner, physical therapy is the perfect opportunity to share my passion for teaching and knowledge with my patients. Each day provides a new challenge to be better than before, and I strive to improve my skills and help others feel – and move – better. I want each person I encounter to know that I am fully focused on solving their problem, devoted to finding answers and solutions, and willing to go above and beyond to help them meet their goals. Physical therapy is a place to learn, explore, move, have fun, and heal. My hope is that each person has a wonderful experience in our clinic and feels genuinely cared for. I am so thankful for the opportunity to help you become better.

My Background

I began my educational journey as a student athlete at Kirkwood Community College where my team won a National Championship and I received my Associate of Arts. I went on to complete my Bachelors of Science in Integrative Physiology from the University of Iowa in 2007. I then completed my Doctorate in Physical Therapy and Masters of Healthcare Administration from Des Moines University in 2011 and 2014 respectively. Immediately following my Doctorate graduation I pursued expertise in Sports Physical Therapy through a Sports Residency program at the University of Evansville and ProRehab, PC in Indiana. My education has provided me amazing opportunities to improve my skill and knowledge in treating orthopedics and active individuals of all ages. I utilize methods such as the Selective Functional Movement Assessment, the Functional Movement Screen, Y Balance Test, Dry Needling, Manual Therapy and exercise to restore mobility and function so each person can move to their best ability.

I had a very lengthy journey to a healthy body with Ashley! I had a stubborn body that did not want to heal. Ashley was so patient and diligent through the months that we spent together.

In previous times of injury when I was at another practice in town my only concern was being released to run again....period. That was all that mattered to me. My time with Ashley was so very different. I wanted to be healthy. I wanted to understand why my body was doing what it was doing. My journey was no longer about simply getting out on the road again, it was about living in a healthy and strong body. Ashley taught me what that meant and we took it one step at a time. By learning how to get a healthy and strong body, I was able to return to the activities that I loved. I learned to be patient while waiting and be happy with the baby steps!

I am forever grateful for my journey with Ashley. She is amazing!
